I've been away for a while on family vacations to northern California and Portland, Oregon and for Sarah's most recent (25th!) surgery at the Shriner's Hospital in Salt Lake. Not a lot of painting got done, but I have some news. Just prior to and in between trips I was able to update my studio and pick up two new easels. I bought a Beaufort plein air easel for large scale outdoor painting and a Best Santa Fe II for the studio. I'll post some pics and reviews soon.

In other news, the painting above, Treeline Brilliance (9x12), was accepted into the 11th Annual National Juried Exhibition of the American Impressionists Society! The exhibit will be held in Nashville, Tennesee, October 7th -November 3rd. A nice honor to have this work included.

In addition, I have been choosen to participate in the Outdoor Painters Society's Plein Air Southwest 2010/11. The first location connected with this event is the south rim of the Grand Canyon, Aug. 26th - Sept. 3rd. Several other outings are planned including a late winter one right here in Prescott! I'll be posting pics and stories as the event unfolds.
