The landscape paintings I create are an expression of my lifelong enjoyment of nature. When I'm not painting I'm usually out rock climbing or trail running. These trips often result in new ideas and refrences for future works. I enjoy plein air painting, but believe that time in the studio is equally important. This is in addition to my favorite job as a "stay-at-home" dad. This blog will focus on the art with references to the outdoor and family experiences to which it is intimately tied.

Hey Bill,
Nice work....where were you at? In the San Francisco Mnts?
Hi Greg, Thanks! Not SF Peaks, I'm up in the mountains behind Thumb Butte west of Prescott. There's a number of small creeks right off the road, one has a small stand of aspens. The one with aspens is on Aspen Creek and the others are along Miller Creek. Really enjoyed painting these.
You have captured some beautiful light in your winter paintings! I am enjoying your blog!
