Tempe and Grand Canyon

The Tempe Art Festival was a modest success. We sold several paintings during the show and had a few follow-up sales in the studio. A couple of unexpected trades rounded things out nicely. I even got a chance to visit the Superstition Mountains a little while I was down there. They were beautiful, but too soon for the wildflowers.

The day after the show Michelle and I hiked down the Bright Angel Trail to Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the Grand Canyon to celebrate our good friends 80th birthday! She's hiked the Canyon many times and made it just fine. I was sore, but wasn't going to complain! The next day we made the 12 mile round trip north from Phantom to Ribbon Falls. What an amazing place! We returned and hiked up to the Tonto Plateau for a final night in our tent. We hiked out the South Kaibab Trail to the rim the next day. Man, I wish I could have brought my paints! Maybe I'll borrow a mule next time...

Sounds like lots of fun. Good to hear that even though economic conditions are bad you're still making some sales.

Hi Bill, Glad to hear that things weren't to bad. I had the opportunity to see some of your stuff at Windrush and talked to John. Great gallery and a great guy. Your work was excellent. Sedona was beautiful. I got lots of reference.
