Phippen Museum Western Art Show 2011

This Memorial Day Weekend I will be participating in the Phippen Museum Western Art Show & Sale in Prescott. Look for me near the corner of Gurley and Montezuma Saturday to Monday, May 28, 29 & 30. I plan to have 30 or so new works in the show and I'll be painting on Sundays quickdraw event at 2 pm.

"The Phippen Museum Western Art Show and Sale — Arizona’s premier outdoor western art sale — is held each year in downtown Prescott, Arizona, the Cowboy Capital of the American West. The 2011 event will feature over 120 talented artists from all over North America in booths surrounding the historic courthouse.

The annual event features Art of the American West represented in oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, pastels, sculpture and drawing. The Phippen Museum Western Art Show and Sale has been a Memorial Day weekend tradition in Prescott since 1974. The Phippen Museum believes the true spirit of the American West is preserved in its art. This show brings together artists of the highest caliber, art enthusiasts and collectors from all over the country to celebrate Prescott’s rich western heritage and culture."

Two LPAPA Exhibits

I'll be in two upcoming shows with Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. The top piece, "Sedona Cathedral" (9x12), will be part of the "Less is More Show" at the Randy Higbee Gallery in Costa Mesa from May 21st to June 6th, opening reception May 21st, 2011, 4 - 8 pm.

The second painting, "A Treasured View" (12x12), will be a part of the "All Artists Show" that has already started at the Laguna Beach Community & Susie Q Center. This exhibit runs from May 7th to June 22nd and the opening reception is this Friday May 13th, 5-7 pm. I won't be able to make it to either one, but I hope you'll be able to see the shows!
